Tomorrow’s a school day, and to not waste our breathe regurgitating the heap of dissent from everyone, we’ll throw in something else that will instead irritate you about tomorrow.
Unless you slept until sundown, you probably realized that today was most likely the warmest day since the tail end of February. As a matter of fact, temperatures soared well into the 70s and, in some places, tapped 80.
And with all great things such as bearable weather comes unbearable consequences, which is the incoming cold front.
You see, the primary reason it was even warm today, and…mild on Sunday was because of an incoming warm front that passed through the Robinson area. With the warm from…a pleasant cold front telling us that warm weather is better suited for the likes of May.
So tonight, as the temperatures “cool down” to around 60-65 degrees a chain of possibly intense thunderstorms will plow their way through the region. Weather reports have been doing what they do best: being vague.
Vague as ever, some sources have said “chances for severe thunderstorms” and “the chance” of hail, wind damage, oh, and not to scare the lilapsophobics here, a minor chance of an isolated tornado.
The point is, in addition to this slew of nasty weather, temperatures will not hit 60 tomorrow…well, actually, it will be 60-ish and stormy going to school, and it will be colder, much colder leaving school as you wonder how much of this junk you still have to take.
And that’s talking about the weather. Not school…well it could fit both ways.
Some of you may have been having trouble either logging into your account or accessing certain portions of the Valor Dictus website. We have learned that earlier today, one of our servers crashed, and we have been trying to get the server fixed and restored, so that new content is added.
We’re not sure how long the site will be down, but keep checking the V/D blog for the latest news regarding Robinson. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Recently, a senior named Daniel Reep, or colloquially known by his Facebook alias, Daniel Kivrusky Tiberius Reepenheimer, wrote a Letter to the Editor to the V/D staff.
It was a great moment in our 40 year history, the first time someone shamelessly wrote us a letter to editor. Ever. Let alone, our first one in months. MONTHS PEOPLE.
Now, I can critique this, but this is the Room 503 blog, this is not your elaborate rant-ridden Tyler Talk. So, in other words, you have your taking, by clicking here to read the story.

Time to inform you all again that there’s another winter weather-related advisory. This time, the culprit’s freezing rain. I, like you all, worried that it would mean an eighth-consecutive day without school, but seeing that tomorrow’s high is 54 degrees, probably the warmest since November, doubt it.
If anything, we might have a two-hour delay, but if the temperature’s going to get that warm, then the ice should melt well beforehand.
You probably have heard this bit of news already, as it is posted on the school’s home page, but let’s sum it up in a nutshell, since large words such as “culumnating” and “encourage” are far too difficult and complex to be included in a high school student’s vocabulary.
FCPS has extended the deadline for teachers to turn in second quarter and first semester grades from Feb. 1 to Feb. 4, which means…another “short week” of the second quarter. Technically…in terms of turning in assignments.
This news may come as a relief to students that procrastinated to the last minute, and are eager to turn in the assignments they blew off till about a week ago.
So, in that aspect, everyone in our school should be thrilled by this news. Right? Wrong.
At 7 p.m., Fairfax County Public Schools released this statement:
All Fairfax County public schools will be closed on Thursday, January 27. Offices are open with an unscheduled leave policy in effect.
In addition to no school, this includes after school activities, field trips, sporting events, school grounds, adult education classes and interscholastic activities.
Really though, this should come to you all as no surprise. It’s not only snowing, but it’s a freaking thundersnow out there. What’s that? Think of a summer-time thunderstorm, just add snow, and remove rain.
Ta da!
If our Online Editor loses Internet due to the weather, blog posts will be cut short for a day or so. Posts will still be available online via Twitter or Facebook.
